UHLAND RESIDENCE

The Uhland Residence offered a unique opportunity to design a modern bachelor pad in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood. The 1,500-square-foot second-story residence had recently been remodeled, and the client wanted a streamlined approach to sourcing furniture locally, with the ability to see everything in person within days.

Shike Design, a Denver interior and restaurant designer, guided the process by sourcing from Design Within Reach (DWR), offering contemporary and midcentury options at accessible price points while securing trade discounts that significantly reduced costs.

The design featured a Roche Bobois electric reclining sectional, a striking living wall that introduced organic texture, and a showpiece floating stairway leading to a rooftop deck. A retractable skylight opened to stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, creating a modern and memorable home environment.
