Raven Rotocrafts

Raven Rotorcrafts was interested in creating ultra light aircraft for the general consumer and for third world countries in need of alternative transportation and air surveillance. The goal was to address the failure issues that were common with the flight stability of ultra lights. This was partially achieved through designing a seating arrangement and control system that was more typical of recreation vehicles, rather than aircraft. I helped produce the initial working prototype, and assisted in presenting the design at the EAA Air Venture Oshkosh, the world's largest aviation air show.

In addition, an engine was developed for kit aircraft derived from a Mitsubishi/ Geo Metro car engine, where a custom gear reduction box was created to provide the appropriate ratio to run a propeller off the auto engine. This design was life cycle tested and was presented to the market at a fraction of the price of typical kit aircraft engines.
